About Us

Before we ever owned a home, we were home improvement nuts. So when we finally did buy our first house, we tackled everything from remodeling a bathroom from the ground up to tiling to installing crown molding, spending every evening and weekend working on the project until it was complete.

Like most people, we take great pride in our home and making it look and function just the way we want it to. Because we spend so much time improving our home, when we started hearing about green home improvement products we were of course interested in learning more. If we could use something that’s safer for our own health and the environment, we wanted to give it a try! But the information on new green products was hard to come by, and since most home improvement stores didn’t carry them, it was easy to keep buying the same old stuff.

Luckily, the green movement has really taken off in the last couple of years, and there are many more sources of information and ways to find green home products than ever before. But for the most part, these products are still only available on-line. While some people buy on-line without hesitation, we felt there must be people like us who just weren’t comfortable making large purchases without being able to see and touch the products, especially when we’re talking about new and different materials. Our desire for green home products to be more accessible, as well as our enthusiasm about all the incredible choices these days in everything from eco-friendly furniture to flooring, inspired us to open Reclaim.

Our goal is to find products that you instantly fall in love with because of their style, comfort, and usability. The fact that they are also eco-friendly will be an added bonus. Some of the items in our store are made of recycled materials, others are certified organic, and others are made with sustainable materials that won’t offgas dangerous chemicals in your home. While it’s not possible in every case, we give preference to products made in California to help reduce carbon emissions resulting from shipping materials over long distances.

Given the choice to buy something we need anyway that is made with the health of the planet in mind, we choose to buy green every time. We hope to show you what an increasingly easy choice it can be.
